SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Could your baby find relief from colic by going to the chiropractor?

How about ADHD or even autism?

It's a growing trend, babies as young as one week old making regular visits to the neighborhood chiropractor.

But is it safe?

Bella Anderson was born nine months ago through a C-section and her hips were dislocated.

She's just starting to take her first steps and her mom Gina never thought they would be so difficult.

Doctors said Bella would need to wear a brace to fix the problem, but she's been treated by Scottsdale chiropractor David Sipes since she was one week old.

Dr. Sipes has adjusted Bella's hips, spine and neck and so far, no need for a brace.

"She has come in three or four times and her hips are perfectly normal now. She is walking and no problems," mom Gina says.

Sipes says chiropractic care for babies and children is a growing trend, but he has been doing it for more than 20 years.

"When we adjust kids who are a year and a half or younger, typically it only takes a couple of minutes to do the procedure unless there is something specifically we are looking at, but a routine wellness exam is typically only going to take a couple of minutes," Sipes says.

Not only can a chiropractor help with hips, but Sipes says the therapy can also help children with colic, ear infections, autism and ADHD.

But is chiropractic therapy safe for kids and babies?

Sipes says there is little risk and the potential for big rewards.

"It's always a good place to start because it's safe to do it, and if it doesn't work, the baby's parents can always pursue the medical options that are out there," he says.

Gina Anderson agrees, "Try it, if it doesn't work, no harm done."

So what does Bella think?

Mom says she loves her mini massage.
