SCOTTSDALE, AZ - A Scottsdale-based security company has a new service that might help save children from drowning.

It is called "Total Connect" by Safeguard Security.

Travis Moss, with Safeguard, explains that it is another tool for parents.

"We are not saying we are replacement for supervision but technology is putting power in parents' hands," he said.

For a service starting at $10 a month, eight sensors can be placed around the home alerting parents when their children might be approaching dangerous situations.

"It is about key events like the liquor cabinet, the gun safe or a pool fence," Moss said.

When a pool gate equipped with "Total Connect" is opened, the sensor sends a text message usually in a matter of seconds.
