SCOTTSDALE, AZ - At Miller and Osborn in Scottsdale, the Indian Bend Wash Greenway is a common place for flooding and potential danger in heavy rains.
The wash flooded the streets Friday morning. Most drivers approached cautiously while a few others turned back.
The road way doesn't flood evenly as Alex Luga found out the hard way. As cars were making it across most lanes of traffic, she ended up getting stuck in the parking lot near the golf course.
"I couldn't tell how deep it was," she said. "I'll definitely think about it differently in the future and pay attention to the signs and not be in such a hurry."
Three drivers stopped to help pull her SUV from the water which was knee-deep in some places.
It can take only about 6 inches of water to float a car depending on how low it sits to the ground.
The water receded fairly quickly by early to mid-afternoon.
