SCOTTSDALE, AZ - The body of a missing Scottsdale man, who failed to return from a bike ride on Thursday, has been found in a canal Saturday morning.
A Scottsdale Police Officer discovered the body of 78-year-old Edward Allan Brawley around 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning near Hayden Road and Indian Bend in a canal, said Sgt. Mark Clark.
Clark said they believe Brawley was riding his bike along the canal and somehow fell into the water. Police have not recovered his bike yet.
Brawley of Scottsdale left his home around 12:30 p.m. Thursday to go on a bike ride near Hayden Road and McCormick Parkway and had not been seen since. His wife said he usually is gone for no more than an hour, police reported.
Police do not suspect foul play.
The Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office is assisting in the investigation to determine cause of death, said Clark.
No other details were released.
