SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Scottsdale police are urging golf fans to have a designated driver or get a cab ride home after drinking alcohol at the Phoenix Open.
One golf fan said he attends the event in Scottsdale for "golf, beer, girls and a good time."
But after the greatest party on grass is over, there's a big decision to make.
"Would you drive a car right now?" asked Scottsdale police Officer Anthony Bellissimo.
"No, I definitely wouldn't," answered golf fan Emily Allers as she closed her eyes and tried to touched her nose.
Scottsdale police officers are nearby, equipped with breathalyzers and to warn partygoers about just how much fun they really had.
"Do you want to see what you're alcohol level is?" Bellissimo asks Allers.
As the Valley woman breathes into a tube, Allers ends up over the legal limit and said she's glad she's not driving.
Scottsdale police say many will do the right thing like Allers by getting a designated driver.
But as the party continues well into the evening at the Birds Nest, police expect to make DUI arrests. They say they hope those partygoers get the message.
"Don't go to the valet line. Go to the taxi cab line and come get your car when you're sober," said Scottsdale police Sgt. Mark Clark.
It's all in an effort to keep the flashing lights from ending up in your rearview mirror.
