Phoenix police say an elderly woman was choked, robbed in her home

PHOENIX - An elderly woman was assaulted and robbed early Saturday morning in her home in Phoenix.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, the woman was watching TV at her home  in Phoenix when someone snuck in, possibly through an unlocked door.

Police said the suspect choked the woman until she was unconscious, and took her vehicle and other belongings.

The stolen vehicle was located at Loop 101 and 38th Avenue, but the suspect has not been detained, according to officials.

Police said they might have DNA evidence from the suspect.
