SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Police are investigating after shots were fired at a Scottsdale business Tuesday night.
Scottsdale police spokesman Dave Pubins said around 8 p.m. two suspects were caught shoplifting by a customer at the Quality Smoke Shop near 71st Street and Thomas Road.
Pubins said when the customer confronted the suspects, they fled the scene.
According to Pubins, a short time later, the suspects returned to the store with a handgun, fired a round and ran away.
Pubins said police located the two suspects at an apartment complex near 74th Street and Thomas.
Police said two suspects, one adult and one juvenile, were immediately taken into custody.
Scottsdale police identified the adult arrested as 20-year-old Dominic Gomez. The name of the 17-year-old juvenile was not released.
Authorities say the customer suffered a superficial wound to the head when one of the suspects struck him with a handgun.
He was treated at a local hospital and released.
