SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Police said a man was arrested after he swam across a pond at the Waste Management Phoenix Open in Scottsdale Sunday.
Officer David Pubins with the Scottsdale Police Department said Rigoberto Polanco, 23, jumped in the water from the public venue side and began to swim across the pond to the 18th fairway around 3:30 p.m.
He was met by officers on the fairway who reportedly helped him out of the water
The officers arrested the suspect for Disorderly Conduct and Public Nuisance and took him off the course to an onsite detention facility.
Pubins said the situation did not hinder play and the suspect had a .158 reading of blood alcohol on a breath test.
