SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Police were investigating a shooting Tuesday morning at a Scottsdale medical building that left a janitor dead.
According to Scottsdale police spokesman David Pubins, the shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. at Edwards Professional Park near Shea Boulevard and 90th Street.
The male victim was working at the time in the building near Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Medical Center, Pubins said.
A female janitor was working across the street from where the victim was found, Pubins said.
The woman reportedly told police she heard a loud noise but thought the victim was throwing out trash.
Pubins said the woman checked on the male janitor a while later and found him bleeding in a courtyard.
She called her supervisor who then called 911.
The man had been shot and later died in a hospital, Pubins said.
The janitors are independent contractors, but it's unclear which company they work for at this time.
Suspects have not been identified.
Police have not told ABC15 crews on scene if there are any signs of a break-in or robbery.
