SCOTTSDALE, AZ - One person suffered serious injuries after car slammed into the Tuscany Salon in north Scottsdale.
Scottsdale police say a Mercedes sedan accelerated from a parking spot right into the salon at a strip mall near Pinnacle Peak and Pima roads Friday afternoon.
Police said there were about 30 employees and customers inside at the time.
One employee was pinned against a wall by the car and was taken to a Scottsdale hospital with serious injuries.
Police said two other people were taken to the hospital with less serious injuries.
Scottsdale police Sgt. Mark Clark said the driver was a 71-year-old female.
She told officers on the scene that she thought the car was in park, and her foot was on the brake, but it was on the gas pedal instead.
There's no word on whether the driver will be cited in the crash.
