SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Scottsdale police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred Thursday afternoon.
Mark Clark, spokesperson for Scottsdale police, said one person has died in a multi-vehicle collision that occurred near Frank Lloyd Wright and Raintree Drive.
Police said a Honda Ridgeline, traveling eastbound on Frank Lloyd Wright, ran a red light and crashed into a Chevrolet pickup truck, which was preparing to turn left at Raintree Drive.
The crash caused the Chevrolet to spin into a third car, a Nissan coupe. The 57-year-old driver of the Nissan was transported to Scottsdale Health Care Osborn in Scottsdale where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Chevrolet received minor injuries, according to police. The driver of the Honda was not injured.
Police do not suspect impairment on any of the drivers. Police expect to issue citations at a later date.
