SCOTTSDALE, AZ - A 19-year-old man has been arrested for a series of burglaries in a gated Scottsdale community during the month of August.
Scottsdale Police Department spokesman David Pubins said a beat officer began investigating seven burglaries from garages in the community near 114th Street and Shea Boulevard that occurred between August 13th and August 25th.
Michael Wells became the focus of the investigation after it was discovered he lived in the community and also had a history of theft and burglary.
Pubins said detectives investigated Wells' recent pawn history and found several items he had pawned fit the description of items stolen from the victims' Scottsdale homes.
Police served a search warrant at Wells' home Tuesday and reportedly discovered stolen property from several of the burglaries. Pubins said Wells admitted his involvement in the thefts.
He was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon and now faces charges of burglary and trafficking in stolen property.
