SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Looking for a new ride? You're in luck -- the original Batmobile was auctioned off Saturday at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale.
If you were the lucky winner, you got it for $4.2 million.
After having the car for years, owner George Barris decided to auction it off.
Barris told ABC15 that it’s time for someone else to enjoy the car.
The Batmobile was not necessarily created for the show, but in 1965, Batman producers needed the car and asked Barris if they could use it.

The Batmobile was used in the Batman TV series from 1966-1968, and Barris kept the car after the show ended.
The one-of-a-kind car has been featured in magazines, TV shows, and even museums.
Before coming to Barrett-Jackson, the car lived in a garage in North Hollywood, but come Saturday, the Batmobile will have a new home and owner.
