SCOTTSDALE, AZ - More than 100 dogs may be in need of a new home if a Scottsdale animal shelter doesn’t get enough donations.
Fedwell Farm Rescue has been taking jobs from non-kill shelters for the past seven years.
The organization’s founder says there was a drop in the number of dogs getting adopted a few months ago and the donations also dropped, so she’s had to pay for the dogs' care out of her own pocket. Now she’s at risk of losing her home to foreclosure, which means the dogs will need to find a new home.
“It just saddens me to think these dogs will have to go right back to where they came from. I just can’t think about it,” said Carrie Wright, Fedwell Farm Rescue.
About 30 of the dogs live with her. Those dogs are non-adoptable because they are too sick. But the rest of the dogs are in foster homes.
Wright needs $8,000 more to save her home. They are looking for any type of donation from money to food to help support the dogs.
