SCOTTSDALE, AZ - An Arizona Cardinals player is trading in touchdowns for homeruns this month.

Larry Fitzgerald is practicing with the Diamondbacks preparing for his upcoming charity event.

The move isn't permanent, but it's for the "Larry Fitzgerald Double Play Celebrity Softball" game on April 23.

The celebrity game is a fundraiser dedicated to Fitzgerald's mom, Carol Fitzgerald, who died eight years ago.

Money raised for this event benefits Carol Fitzgerald Memorial Fund and Partners in Malawi.

The gates for the event open at 1 p.m., and country music artist Troy Olsent will perform for VIP guests.

The game begins at 2 p.m.

Guest appearances for the game may include Darnell Dockett and Adrian Wilson, former teammate Kurt Warner, NFL wide receivers Terrell Owens, Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, Andre Johnson, and former NFL wide receiver Matthew Hatchette.

Following the game, a comedy event will take place at the Talking Stick Resort. Tickets for the event are currently on sale.

The tickets range from $10 for general admission to $500 for dugout seats.
