SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Authorities were investigating two accidents that happened on the Loop 101 in the East Valley late Tuesday night.
The first happened when a sedan lost control and rolled over on the southbound freeway north of Raintree in Scottsdale.
Officials say a passenger was ejected from the car and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
While officers were investigating that accident a motorcycle traveling through the area went down and the rider was thrown from the bike.
The motorcyclist was then run over by an SUV. That vehicle fled the scene.
The motorcyclist was taken to a Scottsdale hospital with critical injuries, according to Department of Public Safety Sgt. Warren Simpson.
Simpson said the wet weather played a factor in the initial accident with the wet roadway.
