SCOTTSDALE, AZ - More than 150 people gathered at the Westin Kierland Resort in Scottsdale Tuesday for the American Heart Association's Heart Ball Addressing Luncheon.
The Heart Ball raises money and awareness for the American Heart Association's mission of preventing cardiovascular disease.
"Like many, I have a terrible family history of heart disease and I want to make sure my three children and the other children in our community grow up heart healthy," said Julie Prusak, 2011 Heart Ball Chairperson.
The audience heard from Dr. Pamela Peeke , a top women's health expert who reminded them, heart disease isn't just a problem facing men but women as well.
"You have to keep heart health front and center," said Dr. Peeke.
The 2011 Heart Ball will take place November 19th at The Phoenician resort.
