SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Remains of another 9/11 victim have been identified, and the victim is from Arizona.
The New York City Chief Medical Examiner’s Office announced Friday that it had identified remains of Karol Ann Keasler.
Keasler was raised in Case Grande and attended the University of Arizona.
“Even after 10 years,” her father, Bill Keasler, told ABC15, “it’s comforting to have a part of her.”
Karol was 42 when she died in the terrorist attack a decade ago. She worked in the World Trade Center at investment bank Keefe, Bruyette & Woods Inc.
“She had an infectious smile,” her sister, Susan Keasler, said. “She loved to travel.”
Karol was planning to move to Moscow, Russia with her fiancée before she lost her life.
The new identification was made when officials retested remains gathered during the initial recovery efforts.
More than 2,750 people were reported missing in the attack on the twin towers. The newest identification brings the number of victims to have some portion of their remains identified to 1,633.
Another 1,120 never had any remains recovered.
