PARADISE VALLEY, AZ - Police identified a sixth suspect arrested in connection with the murders of a Paradise Valley couple Friday.

Commander Alan Laitsch with the Paradise Valley Police Department said 25-year-old Katherine Adele Austin, of Peoria, has been booked into the Maricopa County Jail on one charge of Hindering Prosecution in the 1 st Degree.

The other suspects arrested in the case include 31-year-old Michael Lee Crane , 27-year-old Brittnay Beinhauer, 29-year-old Kelly Steward, 29-year-old Shawn Nicloy and 26-year-old Danielle Rossman.

Lawrence Shapiro, 79, and his wife, Glenna, 78, were found bound, shot, and burned beyond recognition in the master bedroom of their home, near 40th Street and Stanford Drive, on January 30th.

The investigation started when police responded to the Paradise Valley residence that morning after a car belonging to the couple was found burning behind the Goodwill store near 7th Street and Union Hills in north Phoenix.

When police arrived at the Shapiro residence, it was on fire.

The couple was positively identified through dental records.

Crane faces two murder charges, in addition to kidnapping, armed robbery, arson and burglary charges. The remaining four suspects reportedly face theft or trafficking in stolen property charges.

Investigators are continuing to follow up on leads and this continues to be an active investigation.
