PHOENIX - Phoenix police are investigating what caused a vehicle to hit two people crossing the street Wednesday morning near Paradise Valley Mall.
Police said the incident happened just before 5 a.m. at Cactus Road and Tatum Boulevard.
According to police, both of the pedestrians were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Impairment is not believed to be a factor in this incident, and the driver of the vehicle did immediately stop after the accident.
The pedestrians did not seem to be in the crosswalk when they were stuck by the vehicle, according to authorities.
