PARADISE VALLEY, AZ - Hundreds of people are expected to attend a unique conference in Paradise Valley this weekend.

The topic of the conference: life and death and the experiences of people believe they have seen a glimpse of the afterlife.

The goal of the conference is to offer hope and comfort to people who have suffered a loss and who are grieving.

Alex Hermosillo is a speaker who also claims to have the gift to heal. He nearly died several years ago after suffering severe internal bleeding.

"All my fear, all my shame, grief and all my painful experiences were being pulled out of me," he said. "There was nothing left but a feeling of great joy."

The International Association of Near-Death Studies Conference is being held at the Paradise Valley Doubletree hotel near Scottsdale and Chaparral Road.
