PHOENIX - A man charged with killing a prominent Paradise Valley couple and a Phoenix man is due in court Monday. The process will now begin to determine if 31-year-old Michael Crane is fit to stand trial.

Police say Crane is accused of robbing and killing Lawrence and Glenna Shapiro inside their Paradise Valley home in January. Both were shot to death and the home as set on fire.

Police say a week before their deaths, Crane also robbed and killed Bruce Gaudet of Phoenix .

Crane appeared in court last week acting strange. He refused to say his name and squawked like a bird.
