Burglar targeting Paradise Valley homes

PARADISE VALLEY, AZ - Police believe a rash of burglaries in Paradise Valley this month are likely linked.
 
Commander Allan Laitsch reports six burglaries between October 13th and October 20th. 

He said the suspect goes into the backyard of the home and breaks a back window. The crimes usually occur overnight. 

The suspect then steals jewelry and ransacks the home.
 
All the burglaries happened in neighborhoods south of Shea Boulevard and east of Tatum Boulevard in the north part of the city.
 
Laitsch said the man may be scoping out the homes prior to the burglaries by posing as a meat salesman.   

Laitsch said the man got very insistent with one woman about getting inside the home to get water. She refused. 
 
So far there have been no injuries. 
 
The suspect is described as a white man in his 50s.
 
Residents there tell us that they feel very secure in their homes and that the spree feels a little like "deja-vu."
 
"It is kind of like the ‘Rock Burglar,’" said Kelly Lovelady.  "We never expect it to happen in our own enclave."
 
The "Rock Burglar” was arrested last year accused in a burglary spree that lasted 17 years.
