FOUNTAIN HILLS, AZ - Authorities say a 70-year-old man died Friday afternoon after driving off the road and hitting a tree in Fountain Hills.

It happened around 4 p.m. near Sullivan and Fountain Hills drives, said Sgt. Jesse Spurgin with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

It’s unclear what caused the crash, but the unidentified male driver may have had a medical condition, Spurgin said.

The single-vehicle crash is under investigation.
