CAVE CREEK, AZ - Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies are investigating after an explosive device was found inside the break room at a Valley Walmart.
An MCSO spokesperson told ABC15 crews they responded to the Walmart at Cave Creek and Carefree Highway late Thursday afternoon after a suspicious package was found inside a refrigerator in the store break room.
The store was evacuated as a precaution while MCSO deputies investigated the package.
Video from the scene showed crime tape blocking off the store as deputies searched inside.
Officials said a bomb squad responded to the Walmart and was able to render the device safe.
Shoppers were reportedly allowed back inside the Walmart later Thursday night.
No arrests have been made and an investigation into the incident is ongoing, according to MCSO.
