CAVE CREEK, AZ - The Running of the Bulls festival kicked off in Spain Friday, and assuming you didn’t book your flight overseas, you can still join in on the excitement a little closer to home.

Last October, over 5,000 people gathered in Cave Creek to celebrate one of the most dangerous and well-known Spanish traditions right here on American soil.

Spectators lined the quarter-mile dirt track to see 1,000 adrenaline junkies sprinting before a group of huge bulls running rampant after them.

Despite the impending threat of being trampled by an angry bull, only a few cuts and bruises were reported, but there were a lot of hilariously intense wipe outs.

Last year’s three-day festival was concluded with an awards ceremony, crowning participants for Best Costume, Best Wipe Out and overall National Bull Run Champion.

Are you feeling like you’ve missed out?

This year’s Running of the Bulls USA is once again taking place in Cave Creek and is scheduled to take place on October 20.

The upcoming festival will include exhibitors, concession stands, a beer garden, live entertainment, bull fighting, bull riding, a trained buffalo act and more.
