CAVE CREEK, AZ - The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says a man died while hiking in Cave Creek Sunday morning.

The Rural Metro Fire Department says they believe the man had a heart attack before falling approximately 5 to 10 feet.

Sheriff's spokesperson Brandon Jones said the man, approximately 58-years-old, was hiking with a group of people about two miles in on the Elephant Mountain Trail.

The group called 911 and started CPR, but the man did not survive.
