ANTHEM, AZ - Authorities say an 18-month-old Anthem boy was accidentally run over and killed by his grandfather Wednesday afternoon.

Spokesman Brian Lee with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said the boy was run over at his grandparent's house near New River and Desert Hills Drive around 4:30 p.m.

The boy was airlifted to Phoenix Children's Hospital where he later died.

Officials said initial reports indicate impairment was not a factor in the incident.
