YUMA, AZ - The body of a Yuma-area woman killed in a hit-and-run accident apparently laid on the side of Highway 95 just south of Yuma for hours before it was discovered.
An Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman says 33-year-old Dora Guevara was killed across from the entrance of Cocopah Casino late Tuesday or early Wednesday after being hit by an unknown vehicle.
The body wasn't found until about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
DPS spokesman officer Carrick Cook tells the Yuma Sun investigators believe debris at the site may have come from a Nissan sedan. They're also checking surveillance videos from the casino and at the San Luis port of entry to determine if there is any footage of the incident and whether the driver then fled the country.
