YUMA, AZ - Officials say a bullet and shattered window caused the closure of a U.S. Representative’s office in southern Arizona.
The Yuma district office of Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva is closed for the day due to the vandalism, according to a spokesman for the congressman.
According to the Yuma Police Department, the damage was reported around 10 a.m. Thursday.
Officers found what appeared to be a single bullet hole in the front of the unoccupied office. A bullet was found inside. Police say the incident apparently took place between approximately 5 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday.
There is no suspect information and police are investigating.
Officials say Grijalva plans to reopen the office as soon as possible.
