YUMA, AZ - Authorities in southwestern Arizona say a man is in custody after a four-hour barricade situation in Yuma.
Yuma police say 57-year-old Spencer Ross surrendered about 6 p.m. Tuesday.
They say Ross is being treated at Yuma Regional Medical Center and he'll likely be booked into jail for weapon violation related offenses upon his hospital release.
Police responded to a Yuma home about 2:40 p.m. about a reported suicidal person who had barricaded himself in a closet and possibly was armed.
They say Ross refused to come out of the residence or comply with verbal commands.
Several of the surrounding schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution.
Police say a Special Enforcement and Hostage Negotiations Team arrived on the scene and Ross eventually surrendered.
No injuries were reported.
