YUMA, AZ - Authorities say a horse has died after it was violently attacked by a neighbor's pit bull in Foothills.

KSWT-TV reports that the Yuma County Sheriff's Office says the bizarre attack happened Monday.

Deputies say the pit bull injured the horse's leg in the attack and a veterinarian had to later euthanize the horse.

Yuma County Animal Control cited the pit bull owner for dogs at large but allowed the owner to keep the dogs.
