WICKENBURG, AZ - Authorities say a person died in a crash Thursday morning that blocked traffic on a highway just north of Wickenburg for nearly 10 hours.
According to spokesman Bart Graves with the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a semi tractor trailer and passenger vehicle were involved in the collision.
It happened at 6:20 a.m. on US 93 at mile post 192.
Graves said the semi rolled over on its side and was engulfed in flames.
Around 7:15 a.m., another semi truck tried turning around in the area, puncturing one of its cylinders, Graves said.
That resulted in a leak of 13,000 pounds of ammonium onto the highway, he said.
The crash forced the closure of US 93 in both directions for more than nine hours Thursday.
This collision is near the scene of another crash last week that killed a DPS pilot and two others .
