Deadly crash closes US 60 west of Wickenburg

WICKENBURG, AZ - Two people were killed in a head-on wreck on the US 60 west of Wickenburg Tuesday.

The Arizona Department of Transportation said the crash occurred after 5 p.m. and both east and westbound lanes were closed at milepost 62, 1 mile east of Wenden. The roadway was reopened around midnight.

Both drivers were killed at the scene and a passenger was flown to a Phoenix hospital with serious injuries, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

DPS said it is not known which driver crossed the center.
