WICKENBURG, AZ - A woman killed in a four-vehicle crash Wednesday night north of the Valley has been identified.
Jaime Newman, 34, of Phoenix died in the crash, according to Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Bart Graves.
He said officers responded to the scene of the collision on State Route 74 at milepost 2.1, near US 60 around 5:30 p.m.
It all started when a pickup truck was struck from behind by a commercial vehicle, Graves said.
That’s when the pickup truck reportedly pushed into a passenger car occupied by Newman.
Graves said Newman’s car was pushed into oncoming traffic and was then struck by another commercial vehicle.
Air15 video showed one of the semi trucks on top of Newman’s black sedan in the brush alongside the roadway.
According to DPS, there was a HAZMAT situation at the accident scene, which prompted crews to shut down westbound lanes in the area.
The roadway was expected to be closed until 1 a.m., according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. It has been reopened.
