TUCSON - A Tucson woman and her live-in boyfriend now face first-degree murder charges in the wake of the death of the woman's 4-year-old son.
Police say the boy died Saturday as a result of injuries from a March 20 beating that allegedly lasted an hour.
Police initially arrested 26-year-old Jody Minley and 27-year-old James Dwight Robinson on child abuse charges.
Fire Department paramedics had called police after observing injuries that didn't fit the reported accidental drowning that had been reported.
Sgt. Maria Hawke says police aren't releasing the dead boy's name. She says that is the Tucson Police Department policy for child crime victims.
