TUCSON, AZ - An SUV crossed into oncoming traffic on a road just outside of Tucson and hit a Tucson motorcyclist, killing him.
Pima County sheriff's Deputy Tom Peine said Saturday that the investigators found a baggy of marijuana in the SUV, driven by a 39-year-old woman whose name was not released.
Deputies took a blood sample from her and released her because Peine says they didn't have probable cause for an arrest.
The woman could face charges if the blood sample shows that she was driving while impaired.
Peine says the woman was driving along a road in the Picture Rocks area when she crossed the center line Friday night and hit a motorcycle being ridden by 55-year-old Bruce Gordon Purdy of Tucson in a head-on collision.
Purdy was pronounced dead after being airlifted to a hospital. The woman suffered minor injuries.
