TUCSON - Records show that a Tucson Fire Department captain has been demoted because of lewd behavior that a firefighter calls a sexual assault.
The Arizona Daily Star reports that Roger Sloan Tamietti was recently demoted to paramedic and the city of Tucson has filed three misdemeanor charges against him. Those charges include assault and a harassment charges.
Paramedic firefighter Cody Jenkins filed a notice of claim against the city last month involving Tamietti. The claim says Tamietti "straddled" Jenkins and "forcibly humped and ground" against him after tackled him and knocked him over the back of a couch at a station.
Tamietti is appealing his demotion, saying the punishment was excessive and the some of the testimony was a "lie or greatly exaggerated."
