TUCSON, AZ - Two brothers have been sentenced to natural life in prison plus an extra 189 years each for the shooting death of a Tucson girl.

Pima County prosecutors say 21-year-old Orel Vasquez and 27-year-old Christian Vasquez were sentenced Monday.

The brothers were convicted in May on 23 felonies, including first-degree murder.

A woman was home with her two children on Aug. 5, 2009, when authorities say a group of armed men burst in and demanded money and jewelry.

After fleeing the house with some items, authorities say Orel Vasquez fired a rifle at a passing car. They say 15-year-old Brenda Arenas was shot in the head as she traveled down the road with her mother, sister and boyfriend.

The Arizona Daily Star says Christian Vasquez helped plan the home invasion.
