TUCSON, AZ - More Pima County vote counts have increased Democrat Ron Barber's win over Republican challenger Martha McSally in the 2nd Congressional District above 2,300 votes.

Barber declared victory Saturday and McSally conceded when he built a 1,400 vote lead after 11 days of vote counts.

New results posted Sunday pushed his insurmountable lead to 2,371.

Voters decisively picked Barber to fill out the remainder of former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' term in a special election in June and he was seeking a full term on his own.

Pima County says it counted more than 11,500 ballots Sunday and expects to complete counting on Monday. The district also includes Cochise County, which finished its tally last week.

Sunday, Senator Jon Kyl released the following statement in regards to Barber's win:

With yesterday's election news, I want to congratulate Ron Barber on his victory.  I also want to take a moment to congratulate Martha McSally on doing an amazing job in a short time in her campaign for Congress in the 2nd District. The odds were stacked against her and no one initially thought she had a chance of winning.  I always believed that she could, and with a few small changes in turnout she would have.  As a rising star here in Arizona, Martha has a very bright future and I look forward to seeing her continued leadership and service.
