TUCSON, AZ - ABC15 confirms funeral arrangements have been made for Tucson shooting victims U.S. District Judge John Roll and 9-year-old Christina Green.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish says funeral services for Christina Green will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday.

Services for John Roll will be held at the same location at 10 a.m. Friday.

President Barack Obama called for a moment of silence Monday morning "to honor the innocent victims of the senseless tragedy in Tucson."

Congress was not in session Monday and most of those participating were employees of congressional offices and others who work in the Capitol.

It came just hours after authorities charged a 22-year-old man with trying to assassinate Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, revealing that he had scrawled on an envelope the words "my assassination" and "Giffords."

The discoveries at his home in southern Arizona, however, provide few answers for the nation: What motivated the rampage outside a supermarket that killed 6 and injured 14?

Giffords, 40, remains in intensive care at a Tucson hospital, after being shot in the head at close range. Doctors said she had responded repeatedly to commands to stick out her two fingers, giving them hope she may survive .

University Medical Center in Tucson says Giffords is the only victim remaining in critical condition. Surgeons say three victims are in serious condition, two are in good condition, and one person has been released from the hospital.

Law enforcement officials believe Giffords was the intended target of the armed attack around 10 a.m. Saturday in Tucson.

Outside of the hospital, candles flickered at a makeshift memorial. Signs read "Peace + love are stronger," "God bless America" and "We love you, Gabrielle." People also laid down bouquets of flowers, American flags and pictures of Giffords.

The "shady individual" showed up at a public gathering for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords asking to see the lawmaker, according to event volunteer Alex Villec. Told he would have to wait his turn, the man left but returned minutes later and gunfire erupted.

The man, wearing a black cap and baggy pants and shirt, rushed by a table separating him and Giffords, raised an arm, and then came shots, Villec, 19, told The Associated Press.

Dupnik said at a Saturday news conference, "I don't have information about whether she was the first person shot, but yes, I believe she was the target."

Authorities said among the six people killed were U.S. District Judge John Roll, 9-year-old Christina Green, and 30-year-old Giffords aide Gabe Zimmerman.

Also killed were 76-year-old Dorothy Morris, 76-year-old Dorwan Stoddard, and 79-year-old Phyllis Schneck, investigators said.

There were 14 people wounded, including Democratic lawmaker Giffords.

The 63-year-old judge Roll had just stopped by to see his friend Giffords after attending Mass, friends say.

Dupnik said the rampage ended only after three people subdued the gunman.

Giffords was holding a public event called "Congress on Your Corner" at the Safeway store in northwest Tucson when Loughner came up and started shooting.

Just before the event started at 10 a.m., Giffords' Twitter account sent out the following message, "My 1st Congress on Your Corner starts now. Please stop by to let me know what is on your mind or tweet me later."

Mark Kimball, a communications staffer for Giffords, described the scene as "just complete chaos, people screaming, crying."

PCSO spokesman Deputy Jason Ogan said the first 911 call was received at 10:12 a.m. The first deputies reportedly responded to the scene at 10:15 a.m., followed by the first medical teams at 10:16 a.m.

Ogan said within one minute of the first deputy's arrival, the suspect was in custody and medical personnel began treating the injured.

Giffords, 40, represents the 8th district of Arizona. She was re-elected to her third term last November.

She was a member of the Arizona House and Senate before coming to Washington.

She first won election to Congress amid a wave of Democratic victories in 2006.
