TUCSON, AZ - Police in Tucson say a 21-year-old Sells man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a young boy.
Police say Alvinthe Valenzuela was being held Sunday on first-degree murder and other charges related to the shooting at an apartment complex about a mile northeast of Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.
Police say Valenzuela was near an elementary school just after midnight Saturday when he began firing a handgun.
An adult opened the door of the apartment where 7-year-old Johnathan Federico was staying and yelled at Valenzuela, who police say then started shooting at the apartment. Johnathan was struck after running onto the apartment's porch to see what was happening.
