TUCSON, AZ - One person has been hurt after flames engulfed an apartment in central Tucson.
Tucson Fire Department spokesman Capt. Barrett Baker says either an electrical problem or careless smoking touched off the fire just before dawn Saturday.
Arriving crews found one of eight units at the building on North Balboa Avenue engulfed in flames. Firefighters evacuated the residents from other units and were able to keep the fire from spreading.
Baker says a woman in her 40s who lived in the burned apartment was taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The residents of the other apartments were allowed back in their homes at midmorning Saturday.
