TUCSON, AZ - An elderly couple from Tucson lost their home Saturday after a fire engulfed their residence despite fire crew efforts.

According to Northwest Fire and Rescue District, multiple calls were received regarding a mobile home on fire in the Swan Lakes Estates Mobile Home park just after noon Saturday.

When crews arrived at the scene, the fire had consumed 40 percent of the home, but crews were able to contain the flames and stop the spread of the fire to other homes within 37 minutes.

Officials say the elderly homeowners were out of town at the time, but a relative was notified by neighbors.

The relative was taking care of the home at the time and also lives in the same complex.

The trailer suffered heavy smoke and heat damage, but officials say the trailer was a complete loss.
