TUCSON, AZ - Authorities have identified the man found in the trunk of a burning car near Tucson , and they confirmed his death was a homicide.

Police Sgt. Chris Widmer said late Friday that the victim was 23-year old Louie Sagala.

No other details about him or the cause of death were immediately released.

On Thursday, firefighters responding to a 911 call about a vehicle fire in the desert found the remains after the fire was put out.

A crowd of people gathered at the scene as authorities responded, and then dispersed as police tried to talk with them.

The vehicle appeared to be a silver two-door passenger vehicle.

Detectives want anyone who noticed anything to call authorities.
