TUCSON, AZ - A military recruiter at a Southern Arizona high school has been arrested, accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old female student.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department said detectives began an investigation after learning of the "inappropriate relationship" between 29-year-old Matthew Troy Roberts, a recruiter at Flowing Wells High School, and the student.

After obtaining search warrants, additional evidence was found that strengthened the case against Roberts, authorities said.

Roberts was taken into custody at the Sheriff's Administration Building on October 31.

Roberts faces five counts of sexual conduct with a minor.

The investigation continues.
