TUCSON, AZ - ABC News has uncovered new details that suggest Tucson shooting suspect Jared Loughner had planned the spree that killed six with more intensity than originally believed.

According to ABC's Pierre Thomas, authorities allegedly found evidence on Loughner’s computer which reveals that he was apparently curious about what happened to people convicted of death penalty-eligible offenses.

On his computer, sources told ABC News that Loughner had researched lethal injection, specifically what it felt like.

Those sources also told ABC News that Loughner had done research on solitary confinement and political assassinations.

One official said the information, along with previously disclosed details, is strong evidence of premeditation.

ABC News has also learned that Loughner was apparently wearing earplugs to lessen the sound of shots fired at the time of the incident.

Law enforcement officials told ABC this make it very difficult for the defense to claim insanity.
