BISBEE, ARIZONA - A Cochise County judge has sentenced a Sierra Vista man to more than 300 years in prison for viewing child pornography over the Internet.

The Sierra Vista Herald reports 51-year-old Roland James Salisbury was convicted by a jury March 31 on 18 of 22 counts of committing exploitation of a minor under 15 by viewing child pornography on a work computer and his cell phone. The counts are all felonies.

The judge sentenced Salisbury Monday to 17 years for each count.

Salisbury's attorney says the sentence goes beyond the bounds of reason since there were no convictions for touching a child

A prosecutor told the court that Salisbury pleaded guilty in 2001 in Yavapai County to furnishing obscene materials to minors and three counts of public sexual indecency in front of three children.
