SIERRA VISTA, AZ - Authorities in Sierra Vista tranquilized and relocated a black bear that wandered into a neighborhood.
Sierra Vista police received a report of a bear running through the streets and jumping over fences about 6 a.m. Monday.
The Sierra Vista Herald reports that the bear eventually climbed into a tree in the backyard of a home.
Arizona Game and Fish officials arrived on scene and administered a dose of tranquilizers.
Authorities say the bear fell a few feet to the ground, but wasn't injured.
Game and Fish officials say bear activity in the area of Highway 92 and Foothills Drive isn't uncommon.
The say bears come out of the Huachuca Mountains and utilize a wash from Fort Huachuca to make their way into the city.
