FLORENCE, AZ - Track replacement by the Copper Basin Railway will require closure of part of State Route 79 according to the Pinal County Public Works Department.
The closure, between East Hunt Highway and Arizona Farms Road, is slated to begin July 20 and last for a few days.
A detour has been established to take motorists off of SR79, around the closure, then back onto SR79.
According to a press release from Pinal County, there will still be access for local traffic and emergency responders only.
Drivers should expect to add at least 15 to 20 minutes of travel time when the detour is in effect.
Pinal County says RoadSafe Traffic Systems is managing the project, the contact number is 602-243-1218.
